BEIRUT - This year, the forth Grand Prix season which started on Sunday October 5, 2008 in Zandvoort (The Netherlands), will be broadcast by the LBC. The Lebanese TV channel got the approval of the A1 Lebanese team and the Grand Prix organizers to broadcast for the first time the Grand Prix season, exclusively, and live: all car-racing passionates in the Cedar Land can watch their national team every weekend.
LBC sports director, Paul Atallah, is proud of this partnership, “we are extremely happy to collaborate with the Lebanese team and the A1 Grand Prix in order to broadcast the races. In fact, I think that the moment has come to import this sport to Lebanon because we are expecting an exciting season full of promises, with a higher level of competition and a breathtaking show. Of course, we are also expecting our teams to win”.
This year, eighteen nations will compete for the Formula1 world championship (Lebanon, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Monaco, Ireland, Indonesia, India, Mexico, South Korea, Germany, France, Great Britain, China, Canada, Brazil, Malaysia, Italy, and Australia). It is worth noting that all the cars will be supplied with a Ferrari engine instead of the old V8 Zytech engine of last year.
