BEIRUT - A1 Team Lebanon has revealed the livery design that its new driver, Daniel Morad, will race this season.
Eighteen-year-old Morad was confirmed as the team’s driver last week at a press conference in Beirut, and with a new driver comes a new colour scheme. Lebanon is one of the few teams that kept the same livery throughout the first three A1GP seasons.
The new design retains the colours of the previous season, with red, white and green being the most prominent, drawing on the colours and design of the Lebanese national flag. The iconic symbol of Lebanon, the Cedar tree on the car’s barge boards, remains an important element of the team and nation’s identity.
“The new livery is very creative, and it works well with sponsor logos,” said Tameen Auchi, seat holder for A1 Team Lebanon.
“We have put more focus on the commercial aspects this season, so this is why we have re-branded our car. We have secured numerous new sponsors during the off season and now these high profile brands and blue chip companies will benefit from being showcased to fans across the world.”
Joining the original team sponsor, Le Royal Hotels is the parent company, GMH Group. Lebanon’s support for the team is led by Casino Du Liban, with Libanaise Des Jeux, LOTO and Boeker also coming on board for 2008/09.
