BEIRUT - The Lebanese basketball federation presided by Pierre Kakhia announced this week the identity of the new trainer of the national masculine Lebanese team: Aaron McCarthy will succeed Fouad Abou Chacra (present coach of Riyadi team, Beirut) who put the Lebanese team in a disastrous situation during the Preolympic tournament last summer.
This 48-year-old American man is an experienced trainer. He will have the mission to qualify the Cedar Land to its third final phase of the World Cup which will take place in Turkey in 2010.
It is worth noting that Aaron McCarthy was the trainer of the Finnish team from 1997 to 2001. He also trained many German and Belgian teams with whom he won all prizes.
