BEIRUT - Customs revenues reached $1.83bn in 2009, up 64.8% from $1.11bn in 2008, Byblos Bank's Lebanon This Week reported. Custom revenues reached $155m in December 2009 compared to $143m in November and to $142m in December 2008. The Port of Beirut continues to be the main point of customs receipts, accounting for 88.7% of the total in December 2009, and was followed by the Hariri International Airport with 6.3%, the Port of Tripoli with 2.3%, and the Masnaa crossing point with 1.8%. BEIRUT - A Filipina domestic worker stabbed her employer’s 48-year-old sister Rose Saad to death, in Ain Saadeh on Sunday night. The victim's seven-year old daughter, Rose-Mary Saad, was also injured during the incident and transferred to Abu Jaoude Hospital. The Filipina employee was arrested, but no further details were revealed.
