The Smurfs’ 50 years anniversary

BEIRUT- Within the framework of “Beirut World Book Capital 2009” and in collaboration with the minister of Culture, the “Comics International Festival”, and the Syndicate of professional graphic designers and illustrators in Lebanon (SPGIL) organize a workshop on comics and the concept of staging and script preparation on Monday February 8 from 8 am to 10am at the International College, with the partnership of the Embassy of Belgium« Wallonie Bruxelles international (WBI) » and the Embassy of France.

This activity is launched on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the “Smurfs”.

BEIRUT –Madonna and her manager will be designing a new line of sunglasses with designer duo Dolce and Gabbana. The eyewear line, called MDG, is part of MG Icon. The sunglasses collection, manufactured by Luxottica, will cost between $248 and $289 and be on sale at Dolce & Gabbana stores. BEIRUT - According to Lebanon this Week published by Byblos Bank, the number of incoming tourists to Lebanon totaled 106,005 in January 2010, constituting a decrease of 23% from 137,651 tourists in December 2009 and an increase of 37.1% from 77,308 tourists in January 2009. Arab tourists accounted for 46.5% of total visitors and were followed by visitors from Europe with 23.3%, Asia with 15.9%, America with 10.2%, and Oceania with 2.3% and Africa with 1.6%.
