Ethiopian Airlines plane black box transported to Paris

BEIRUT - The Ethiopian plane crash investigation panel, Director of Civil Aviation Hamdi Shawk, the pilot expert Mohammad Ghazir, the “Boing” institution engineer Denis Jones and Ethiopian investigator Theodore Negato left Beirut aboard a private plane belonging to Prime Minister Saad Hariri.

The committee has carried the black box found yesterday evening to Paris to analyze information.

BEIRUT - According to the National News Agency, Speaker Nabih Berri will head to Turkey on Sunday with a parliamentary delegation for an official state visit. BEIRUT –Madonna and her manager will be designing a new line of sunglasses with designer duo Dolce and Gabbana. The eyewear line, called MDG, is part of MG Icon. The sunglasses collection, manufactured by Luxottica, will cost between $248 and $289 and be on sale at Dolce & Gabbana stores. They'll also be sold at Luxottica Group's Sunglass Hut chain and at other eyewear shops. The collection will debut in May.

Tourism: Number of tourists up 37% in January 2010

BEIRUT - According to Lebanon this Week published by Byblos Bank, the number of incoming tourists to Lebanon totaled 106,005 in January 2010, constituting a decrease of 23% from 137,651 tourists in December 2009 and an increase of 37.1% from 77,308 tourists in January 2009. Arab tourists accounted for 46.5% of total visitors and were followed by visitors from Europe with 23.3%, Asia with 15.9%, America with 10.2%, and Oceania with 2.3% and Africa with 1.6%.
