It all started with Maya Zankoul’s blog Amalgam on the hectic life of a freelance graphic designer http://mayazankoul.wordpress.com . Venting out everyday minor frustrations with very accurate observations, Amalgam struck the right chord, a humorous one that is. Seeing Lebanon through Maya’s eyes is interesting and fun. In her adventures, the young 23-year-old designer meets know-it-all taxi drivers, reflects on the diverse billboards (where can we find PG-13 areas to visit with the kids?) and manages to find her way out of the labyrinth of the Dbayeh marina.

Soon enough, Maya’s blog had its devoted followers, leaving daily comments and asking for more. It was definitely time for a book. The young girl paid out of her own pocket to print 500 copies of the book, which was launched on August 12 at Art Lounge. A second book signing will take place soon in Zouk Youth and Culture Center. In the meanwhile, the book is on sale at Librairie Antoine and Virgin Megastore all across Lebanon. Grab your copy if you want to laugh your heart out!
